Daddy took the plunge
The polar plunge, that is. This weekend in Madison, hundreds (maybe thousands) of people took off their clothes so they could jump through a hole in the lake. I kid you not, the ice had to be at least two and a half feet deep. You can see my dad and Mr. Adam, Mr. Amnon, and Mr. Josh waiting their turn.
And there's the jump. Daddy decided to cannon-ball in. For future reference, the cannon ball is not the way you should go when diving into 32 degree water. The key is "get in, get out." Cannon balls plunge you deep down and take too long. Mr. Josh somehow managed to jump in without getting his head wet and Mr. Amnon used his Israeli quickness to jump in last and push everyone out of the way to get out first.
Here's everyone scrambling to get out. Daddy says at this point his body stopped working. Don't worry though. The nice firefighters had the foresight to put a net in the water so they could pull out everyone who didn't make it. That was nice of them. We'd hate to have to wait until spring to get daddy out from under the ice.
(And for a little treat for you with high speed internet: click on the picture to blow it up so you can look at the girls in the neon green bikinis in the background! Looks like my daddy wasn't the only crazy one!)
Don't you feel too bad for Daddy. As soon as they got out of the lake, they got to climb in a hot tub with "alot of cute college girls." Mommy says that's the first and last time that will ever happen to daddy.
