Ohio trip- Part 2- Marion continued.

The nice weather continued in Marion and we went out to the Harding Memorial so that I could take some pictures for my photography class.

Henry had a fun time, even though he fell asleep on the 4 minute drive from the Nama's house. Although he was upset that the memorial was locked and you couldn't get into to actually play on the tombs of the President and his wife.
The memorial is the largest monument to a President outside of Washington DC.
And it is impressive, although Papa once thought it was called the "Hardly Memorial" because there are hardly any toys there.

This is the locked part. We owe a certain amount of gratitude to President Harding, because if it weren't for him and his home, Papa would have had no spending money in high school and during the summers in college. Luckily Papa was able to earn his way as a tour guide and Harding expert.

Henry wasn't that impressed until he saw some letters on the side of the monument and ran around and around the marble columns looking for more.

Henry has recently become pretty obsessed with letters and had memorized most of the alphabet. It's nice because you can use it to keep him busy when he gets restless. Looking ofr more letters at the memorial kept him busy for a good half hour.

Later, we grabbed PawPaw and headed to Project Playground.

Henry had to catch PawPaw at the bottom of the slide.

Lift me up PawPaw!

Some day he'll be tall enough to ride the zip line himself.

It was a great time, and we followed it up with supper at BW3's and a trip to the free zoo (aka the pet store). Henry was very good waiting for his food because a baseball game was on the big screen and the screen was filled with letters to point out. And he had a great time playing peek-a-boo with the fish at the zoo.

Here's a little proof that Henry does know a few letters.

He's also getting brave and jumped off the steps.
