Whoa mama.

A couple of you have requested belly shots of mama. And for the rest of you, cover your eyes and don't stand too close to her.
This picture is from Friday. Mama is exactly 34 weeks along.

Mama says she must be having a 15 pound, 23 inch baby because the baby has dropped but her gall bladder still hurts from getting kicked. I dare this kid to try and top my birth weight of 9 pounds 6 ounces. It's not even born and it's already a punk.

Put on your sunglasses! That is an exposed Wisconsin January belly. After mama lifted up her shirt, NASA called because they were getting signals in space from the glare.

You'll notice that even though the high temperature this weekend was around -1 degree, mom is wearing short sleeves. Not only has her pregnancy warmth arrived, Papa says she's started nesting too, so she's constantly vacuuming, oiling the table, and in general making our lives miserable. This also means she works up a sweat and then makes general announcements that "we're not rich and 67 degrees is an extravagance that we do not deserve and anyway, it's really warm so I'm turning the thermostat down to 60." I can't believe we have 6 more weeks of this.

We did brave the weather yesterday to go out to a baby shower. Our friends Miss Sara and Mr. Kyle are having a baby boy due just 9 days before our baby comes. Maybe we'll all go to the hospital at the same time. Here Miss Sara models some new outfits. Don't worry, she said there is just one baby in there. But we do feel bad, because if it's possible, Mr. Kyle's head is even bigger than Papa's head, so that poor little baby may not have the neck strength to sit up or walk for a few years. On the other hand, we can put this baby and baby Gordo beside each other and make bobble head jokes for a long time.

While the girls made squealing sounds over baby stuff, we guys stayed in the basement playing video games. I got my first taste for shoot-em-up games when papa let me play Halo for him. I think I was pretty good. Papa said it was just like being in college again.
