We're very happy to announce that our papa successfully passed his dissertation defense yesterday and has completed all of the requirements to finish his PhD!We celebrated papa's (excuse me, doctor's) successful defense with a fancy supper at Samba, an awesome Brazilian restaurant where the servers walk around with huge chunks of meat on big swords. Two hours and one bottle of wine later, everyone was feeling good and very full.

The food was so good that mama couldn't even finish her gelato.

June was very excited for papa and proposed that we head down to the Terrace to celebrate.

You can't really see it, but June understood the importance of the occasion and even wore tights to the Terrace.

And lots and lots of our friends came too! We didn't realize how many babies had been born in the past year! Thanks to everyone who came out to join in the fun!
