Henry's first written word.

Henry was very proud last night when he showed us what he wrote- CAT. And we were pretty surprised!

Not bad!

Henry's really starting to pick up on words. He can "read" (recognize) the following words:
Henry
June
Mama
Papa

One of his favorite activities is to "do my ABC's," which means typing on the computer. (He says that papa does his ABC's all day at work. And sometimes he reads books too.) Henry's favorite word to type on the computer is JAZZ (Grandma and Grandpa Cooper's dog). It is a pretty fun word to look at.

Last night, papa and Henry were working on "at" words. They started their list with cat, hat, pat, mat. And Henry impressed us all when papa added an R and Henry read "rat" all on his own.

Needless to say, we're all pretty pleased with our budding genius. Now if only he would own up to dirty diapers and stop splashing so much water when I try to wash his hands. And it's a sure thing that his genius doesn't translate over into the finer arts. They had music class at preschool today. I guess Henry just stood there watching all the other kids sing and dance and finally asked his teacher when they could go back outside to count acorns. Looks like June is going to have to be the musical prodigy in this family.

We don't want June to be left out. We were very happy to wake up at 6 am this morning and find that June was still asleep! I guess that all we had to do was tell her that she wasn't going to get her 4am snack anymore. I think she just knew it was papa's night to get up with her and she was just being nice.
