Hot time, summer in the city- Henry.

On Sunday we got to ride a subway downtown. When we got out, mama said we were at a place called the Mall. There were lots of weird looking buildings. We were in town at the perfect time of year- right after Labor Day. We practically had the whole place to ourselves!

We got one picture in front of the Washington Monument. Miss Leah wanted to take us to see some other things, but mama said no. In her words, it was "too stinking hot." We promised Miss Leah that we'd be back, but made a mental note that it wouldn't be between the months of June and September.

Finally, we made it to our destination- the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
Papa has been wanting to bring me here for a long time. And I did not let anyone down with my enthusiasm for the dinosaur exhibit. I even correctly identified a number of dinosaurs by their scientific and Land Before Time names- like the T.Rex (Sharp Tooth), Triceratops (Sara), Pterodactyl (Petry), and Brontosaurus (Long Neck).

The exhibit was pretty impressive.

We especially liked the turtle. There was also a giant sloth, that genuinely struck terror into all of our hearts, but it was so big that we couldn't get a good picture of it.

We ate at the cafeteria and were really spoiled when we got a $4 dinosaur cookie. ($4!!!!)

Junie didn't even bother to pose, but when straight for the frosting, as she knew she didn't have much time.

After such a fun weekend, both of us were asleep in the stroller before we even got out of the museum. We slept all the way back to the metro station, through 3 elevator rides, and even on the train back to Miss Leah's house.

Thanks for the great weekend Miss Leah! We can't wait to come back again!
